It’s festival season on the Gold Coast for the next couple of months. The Quiksilver Pro is on at the moment, which is reason enough to visit Gold Coast for many, but if that doesn’t tickle you then Gold Coast’s Bleach Festival accompanies the Pro.
With the Quiksilver Pro drawing in large numbers to the Gold Coast it’s a good time to run a festival. In its fourth year Bleach is growing and covers most of the Gold Coast with events. There are circus acts, street parties, dance, workshops, theatrical events, market stall and more. With events from one end of the Gold Coast to the other this festival is shaping up to be a premier festival on the Gold Coast calendar.
Running in April is the Surfers Paradise Festival. Its scope is obviously limited to Surfers Paradise but it’s well worth taking a trip into Gold Coast’s tourist heartland to enjoy what is on offer. I’ve attended the Street Entertainment Championships every year of this festival and can tell you it’s a great day. The diversity of street acts is wonderful and the quality will inspire. Take the kids to this one (or just be a big kid yourself) and everyone will be entertained.
Other great options in the Surfers Paradise Festival include the fireworks competition, the short film festival, the rock concerts or just enjoy a wine/beer at the beachside pop-up bar. (If only this could be a permanent fixture.)
There are a tonne of things to do on the Gold Coast right now. You can just enjoy the warm weather, beautiful warm water if you want. There are all the usual attractions including walks through the Hinterland and the theme parks. There is a growing cafe culture to be explored in our increasingly cosmopolitan and cultured city. And on top of all this Gold Coast has two great festivals to enjoy.
You know, as usual, if you’re coming or going from Gold Coast airport or Brisbane airport, the best and most trouble-free way to go is by booking your airport transfer with Black Label Transfers. We’ll make sure you holidays start and finish in the way you’d always want them.
